After a traumatic leave from my dream job - teaching Junior High School Theatre - I returned to teaching Elementary School. It was hard. I missed my kiddos immensely. I missed my dream job, not to mention how traumatic it was to leave. After two years, I decided to accept the fact that I am an elementary school teacher by posting something positive that happened in my classroom every day. It started on Instagram and Facebook. It's now in blog form. Thanks for coming.

The scene: 25 kindergarteners sitting in Actor’s Neutral on their stars. We are talking about Gerald, Piggie, and their friend the Snake (Can I Play Too?)
Kindergartener: Ms. Karlyn, do Snakes have bones?
Me: Great question! What do you think?
Another K: Balls? As in a penis?
Me: Snakes have vertebrae and ribs, that’s why they can move In squiggley lines.
AK: So NOT a penis.
Suddenly and luckily the kindergarteners started randomly moving and sounding like snakes.
