After a traumatic leave from my dream job - teaching Junior High School Theatre - I returned to teaching Elementary School. It was hard. I missed my kiddos immensely. I missed my dream job, not to mention how traumatic it was to leave. After two years, I decided to accept the fact that I am an elementary school teacher by posting something positive that happened in my classroom every day. It started on Instagram and Facebook. It's now in blog form. Thanks for coming.

I’m posting early today! I only worked a 1/2 day because I have other commitments.
Second-graders are working on Storytelling. Specifically telling stories about themselves. To start it off, I told them the story about how my finger got chopped off, by the big metal vestibule door when I was in third-grade while playing Kissing Tag. When I got to the part about a boy pulling the door closed chopping my finger off…
2nd Grader: Did you say SHIT?
Me: probably.
Then I just continued with the story and everything was fine.
